Baby x2
03:36

Is this moving way too fast? God, I hope that this thing lasts.
I don't know where to put my faith when I see that look upon your face.
You take everything I've learnt and you set it all to turn.
Is this how to live my life? You know I just wanna do things right.
But baby, baby, when you look at me I just can't see anything clearly.
Baby, baby, you set my heart alight. Am I walking in your light?
I just wanna do things right.
I was once a precious girl, never set foot in the world.
Always stayed inside the lines and never stepped foot out of time.
My mother would tell me only God would set me free,
but in you I've seen the signs. Boy, I want you to be mine.
But baby, baby, when you look at me I just can't see anything clearly.
Baby, baby, you set my heart alight. Am I walking in your light?
I just wanna do things right.
Oh, my mother would tell me that only God would set me free.
But in you I've found the making of my own religion
and I just can't trust myself around you.
Because baby, baby, when you look at me I just can't see anything clearly.
Baby, baby, you set my heart alight. Am I walking in your light?
I just wanna do things right.

The Words I Say
04:16

You don’t listen to the words I say. Not like you used to, anyway.
What happened to the way we were? What’s happened to the way things were?
We are meant to marry in 6 weeks, but as things are I’d rather
Freak my mother out and run away, so I can try to be okay.
I know you love me, it’s always on your lips.
You say you love me and my whole insides flip…
But sometimes mans emotions aren’t enough to keep a woman.
And sometimes there’s the notion that the more you have you’re winning,
But you’re wrong sometimes… and this might be one of those times.
And you’re not always right about the things upon our way!
Maybe you could close your mouth and listen to the words that I say.
The way you shake your head; it hurts much more than if I was to climb and fall.
You never choose to hear my truth and nothing is valid without proof for you.
City streets are screaming overhead while my opinions lie down dead underneath
Your dismissing eyes, meanwhile your tongue goes on with lies.
I know you love me, it’s always on your lips.
You say you love me and my whole insides flip…
But sometimes your emotions aren’t enough to keep your woman.
And sometimes there’s the notion that the more you have you’re winning,
But you’re wrong sometimes… and this might be one of those times.
And just because you say you love me doesn’t make it real!
Maybe you could try and give a damn about the way that I feel.
Is this even real?
You don’t listen to the words I say. Not like you used to, anyway.
What happened to the way we were? What’s happened to the way things were?
